The project explores the transformations of biominerals found in sage leaves and snail shells—two materials that store and release CO₂.
Through calcination, the shells become quicklime and later rehydrate, while burned sage traps air bubbles between two glass plates.
In the exhibition space, the shells form a circle echoing fairy rings, and glass casts reproduce the inner imprint of shells as they crumble.
Between art, technique, and alchemy, fire reveals metamorphoses where the living and the mineral enter into dialogue.
