For this project on the transformation cycle of objects, I focus on packaging—more specifically on thermoformed packaging, often transparent, used to protect, contain, and display products on store shelves, and destined to be discarded immediately after opening the box.

These packages usually house items from the entertainment industry: headphones, figurines, but also staplers, flashlights, and other electronic objects. I became interested in creating a kind of typology of these improbable forms. It is a way of addressing the contradictions inherent in our consumption habits and, as Marcel Mauss once said: By digging through a pile of rubbish, one can reconstruct the entire life of a society.

Pour cette proposition autour du cycle de transformation des objets, je m’intéresse aux emballages, plus précisément aux thermoformages, souvent transparents servant à protéger, à conditionner et à exposer les objets dans les étals des magasins et destinés à être jetés immédiatement après l’ouverture des boîtes.

Il s’agit les plus souvent d’objets de l’industrie du divertissement : casques audio, figurines, mais aussi des agrafeuses, des lampes de poches et autres objets électroniques. Je me suis intéressée à constituer comme une typologie de ces formes improbables. Une manière de parler des contradictions relatives à nos habitudes de consommation et comme le disait Marcel Mauss : En fouillant un tas d’ordure, on peut reconstituer toute la vie d’une société.
